EU history

The EU has for the past 50 years has developed into a political and economic cooperation between 27 European countries. A partnership that includes a wide range of policy areas, from competition laws and transport policy to cigarette advertising and counter-terrorism.

Denmark in comparison to the EU

By being a member of the EU, Denmark has lost some sovereignty to the union. We have lost influence in ex. the law making decisions. But then again we also get some money from the EU to the agriculture, if it weren't for the money from the EU i don't that Denmark would have agriculture today. Being a member of the EU also ensures that Denmark can keep up with other countries as Denmark can compete with the other countries because of the competition laws being issued by the EU.

Denmark has been a member of the EU since 1973.

The EU currently consists of 27 member states.
